Carriage
Room
The solid-teak baby elephant has stood watch by the entrance to the Carriage
Room for as long as most of us can remember. A pair of horse-drawn sleds,
one of which comes down from the rafters each holiday season to be festooned
with decorations in the Main Gallery, rest on ancient ceiling beams overhead.
Here you can find antique Persian apparel and tools of the weaver, as
well as the old storefront signs that span almost 70 years. The Carriage
Room holds regular and odd-sized rugs from 3x7 to 5x7, mats, and wonderful
piles of contemporary and antique bags and trappings.
